QuantumX

QuantumX is the most successful data acquisition system ever released by the HBK Darmstadt factory. With a large family of various modules, QuantumX can connect, interrogate and read almost all sensors available on the market with the appropriate sampling rates. This builds a measurement chain where all sensors are time-synchronised and measurements visible. Its modular structure, where each module can be operated as a stand-alone unit or as part of a larger system, helps meeting evolving needs and budgets, and ensures strong return on investment.

QuantumX data acquisition system has multiple specificities making it used by thousands of companies around the world, in Australia and in New Zealand.

Each measuring module is precise, reliable, and can be used as a standalone unit or integrated with other QuantumX modules. Consequently, the number of channels starts at four (4) and finishes at many hundreds.

While modular, QuantumX is also distributable. QuantumX modules can be used as small standalone independent data acquisition units, be combined within racks, be stacked up, or be distributed and connected through Firewire or Ethernet so that they remain close to sensors and reduce noise.

More than 15 different fundamental sensor technologies can be connected to QuantumX modules, including:

  • Full-bridge or half-bridge strain gauges (DC or 4.8 kHz carrier frequency)
  • Quarter bridge strain gauges
  • Current-fed piezoelectric transducers (IEPE / ICP® / Deltatron)
  • Piezoresistive full bridge
  • Resistance thermometers (PT100 / PT1000)
  • Thermocouple types K, J, T, B, E, N, R, S, C

  • Inductive half or full bridge
  • Voltage (± 100mV, ± 10V, ± 60V)

Multiple measuring modules are available, each module type having its specificities, sampling rate and number of channels. They include:

  • QuantumX MX440B, a 4-channel universal DAQ, supporting 15 differenr sensor technologies
  • QuantumX MX840B, a 8-channel universal DAQ, also supporting 15 differenr sensor technologies
  • QuantumX 1615B/1616B, two 16-channel strain gauge bridge amplifiers
  • QuantumX MX1601B, a 16-channel amplifier for current-fed piezoelectric transducers (IEPE, ICP, Deltatraon), Voltage (±100 mV, ±10 and ±60 V) and Current (0/4 ... 20 mA, 2-/3- or 4-wire)
  • QuantumX MX410B a 4-channel, highly-dynamic universal amplifier reaching sampling rates at 100 kS/s per channel for 4 channels and 200 kS/s per channel for 2 channels
  • QuantumX MXFS, an optical interrogator module with 128 channels to interrogate FBG-based optical sensors and integrate optical and electrical measurements into the QuantumX measurement chain
  • QuantumX MX1609 thermocouple amplifier with 16 channels
  • QuantumX MX809B insulated thermocouple amplifier with 8 channels
  • QuantumX MX403B isolated voltage module with 4 channels for Voltage (10, 100 and 1000 V) and 1250 V (non CAT), 1000 V CAT II, and 600 V CAT II
  • QuantumX MX460B pulse and frequency measurement module with 4-channel for the acquisition of torque, rotational speed, angle, position, and displacement
  • QuantumX MX430B full-bridge amplifier for dynamic and static precise measurement of strain-gauge-full-bridge-based transducers

Data recorders, gateways and input/output modules are also available. They include:

  • QuantumX CX22B-W, a data logger and industrial computer
  • QuantumX CX27C, to integrate QuantumX measuring modules real-time into EtherCAT™ or PROFINET IRT network for control, automation or monitoring
  • QuantumX MX471C with 4 channels to import/export data into/from CAN
  • QuantumX MX878B for real time computation and 8 channels for the output of analog voltages
  • QuantumX MX879B for real time computation and 8 analog voltage outputs and 32 digital inputs/outputs

All QuantumX modules can be driven using catman software. API's and external drivers are also available.
